Postcrossing - New York, New York USA

Ah, New York, New York! Received this postcard from Maria Cecilia of New York, USA. through postcrossing. I have wonderful memories of the New York when we went last may for a holiday. My cousin was kind enough to drive us from Washington to New York. We stayed for a night in the bright and lively city of NY, NY. We went on the red tourist bus, Guggenheim Museum (which was unfortunately close on a Thursday), Liberty Island and a lot more places. At Times Square, they have a huge Toys R Us shop, about 3-4floors, with a kids Ferris Wheel inside.

you can view some of my NY photos in my post HERE

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks Agnes for the wonderful postcard!

Mailtime! Russia and Qatar

Here's two postcards for today's post, first from the oldest town of Siberia, Russia, TOMSK. it was founded more than 400years ago. It is famous for old wooden houses. Thanks a lot Maria! i love postcard of houses!

Tomsk (Russian: Томск) is a city and the administrative center of Tomsk Oblast, Russia, located on the Tom River. One of the oldest towns in Siberia, Tomsk celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2004. Population: 522,940 (2010 Census preliminary results). Tomsk is divided into four city districts: Kirovsky, Leninsky, Oktyabrsky, and Sovetsky. Tomsk is located about 20 kilometers (12 mi) southeast of the town of Seversk, a major center of plutonium production and reprocessing and uranium enrichment. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomsk)

from Doha, Qatar
and another one from good friend Chekai of Doha, Qatar (big hugs Chekai!). on the postcard is the water pots fountain at the Corniche. this is my first postcard from Qatar too.

Doha (Arabic: الدوحة‎, ad-Dawḥa or ad-Dōḥa, literally: "the big tree") is the capital city of the state of Qatar. Located on the Persian Gulf, it had a population of 998,651 in 2008, and is also one of the municipalities of Qatar. Doha is Qatar's largest city, with over 80% of the nation's population residing in Doha or its surrounding suburbs, and is also the economic centre of the country. mailtime! a surprise postcard from France

a surprise came in the mailbox a few days back. i received this postcard from by Sheila of APOSTCARDADAY. she's got a large collection of postcards shown in her blog, and she updates daily, as the title of her blog says. I really like getting her updates. Thanks again Sheila! for sending a wonderful surprise.

From Sheila's blog, i also found a link to POSTPALS of UK ~ a site which allows you to brighten a sick child's day by sending them mail, a card, letter, postcard, or gifts. as simple as that. i got excited and wrote a few postcards and decorated them with colorful stickers hoping it will bring a smile to the child who will receive it. i sent out my first few postcards last Wednesday. if you have time, do drop by the site and hopefully, send a note or two, to the children on the list.

here is a message from the postpals creator Vikki
it really is very easy and would only take less than 5mins of your time, but would mean a lot to the child who will receive your message. if you are unsure what to write on the card, please check their blogpost about what to say and not to say HERE.

Have a nice weekend everyone!
